Responsibilities
Manage sales and operation of the Produce Department.
Maintain quality control, merchandising, cleanliness, and organization.
Oversee inventory management.
Co‑coach, evaluate and develop team members; conduct bi‑annual performance reviews.
Attend and participate in store meetings.
Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions with the Store Manager.
Handle team member concerns, taking corrective actions such as coaching, counseling, discipline, or termination when necessary.
Create and adjust schedules to maximize productivity.
Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
Lead a team that delivers high‑quality products and outstanding customer experience.
Serve as a Key Carrier and/or Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
Qualifications
At least 18 years old; 1–3 years experience in a grocery retail setting with produce management.
Basic math, weights and measures knowledge.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Ability to perform housekeeping; clean and sanitize work area.
Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights & Measures regulations.
Physical ability: standing, walking, bending, climbing; lift up to 50 lb. between 10‑50 hrs without assistance; use pallet jack up to 20 ft; maneuver six‑wheel carts and walk up to 5 mi in an 8‑hr shift.
Maintain Food Handlers permit.
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
Working knowledge of personnel, margin, sales, and financial reports.
Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude toward team members and customers.
Pay Range $21.40 – $34.25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
