RECREATION ATHLETICS MANAGER I (CLASS CODE 6148)

Employees in this classification are primarily responsible for administering, implementing and evaluating the operations of athletic recreation programs for all age groups at facilities assigned within the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission. Work also includes responsibility for enhancing the quality of athletic programs, staff, and facility conditions in areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
Either a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Recreation, Parks Administration, Leisure Activities, Health, Physical Education, Fine Arts, Performing Arts or a related field
Or permanent or probationary status as a Recreation Leader II, Recreation Center Assistant II, or Recreation Site Facilitator II and at least two (2) years of experience in those classifications
Or a high school diploma or GED and at least four (4) years of experience in the coordination and/or administration of community services or recreational programs
A one (1) year probationary period is required.
