Job Summary Semiskilled work under the supervision of journeyman operators in a large utility system, including operation of equipment associated with the pumping and treatment of water and wastewater, generation and distribution of power, and related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications High school graduation or equivalent. Ability to obtain a Louisiana Driver's License is desirable.

Application & Selection Process Applicants will participate in a written test (100% weight) consisting of four sections: mathematical ability; professionalism, flexibility, and emergency reaction; ability to read gauges, tables, and charts; and hand tools and mechanical comprehension.

A working test (probationary) period of one year applies effective August 1 2023.

Background checks will be conducted after interview. Successful completion of criminal history investigation is required.

Substance abuse testing is required for positions involving public safety and will be conducted during the working test period.

A medical examination is required for all original entrance probationary appointments to active classifications. A medical screening may result in an examination for non‑active classifications.
