The Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee (CLC) is the K‑12 outreach facility for the Florida A&M University – Florida State University College of Engineering. Our mission is to provide students and their families with high‑quality educational experiences through the use of our IMAX® Theater, Planetarium, Space Mission Simulator, and demonstrational activities.
Responsibilities: Field trips
Respond to requests submitted through CLC website and serve as secondary point of contact for email/phone inquiries
Recommend programming based on group needs and create schedule drafts
Reconfirm upcoming visits, obtaining group order forms and show selections when applicable
Send survey requests once programming has been completed
Facility Rentals
Respond to requests submitted through CLC website and serve as secondary point of contact for email/phone inquiries
Recommend space(s) appropriate for client’s event scope and provide facility tours, upon request
Work alongside Event Manager to create event layouts, detail sheets and/or timelines
Reconfirm upcoming visits and send survey requests to facility users once the rental period has completed
Serve as secondary personnel for contact for day‑of event coordination, assisting with set‑up and tear‑down as needed
Prepare documentation and work sign‑in/sign‑out for Camp Challenger and Homeschool Days programs
Other duties as needed
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience coordinating field trips, programs, or visitor services.
Strong customer service and communication skills (email/phone).
Experience recommending programs/spaces and creating basic schedules or layouts.
Familiarity with event or facility rental coordination and day‑of support.
Strong organization and ability to manage multiple groups at once.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Teams or similar tools.
