Community Manager – AvalonBay Communities

The Role
Lead an exceptional leasing team, manage resident relations, partner with maintenance, and drive financial performance. You will use your leadership skills to maintain a top‑performing property that reflects AvalonBay’s values of collaboration, innovation, and ownership.
Responsibilities
Foster positive relationships with residents, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
Enforce lease agreements and community policies consistently and fairly.
Organize and manage resident events and initiatives to promote community.
Prepare and manage the property’s budget, including revenue, expenses, and capital improvements.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
5+ years of multi‑family or related property management experience required; experience in retail/hospitality is a plus.
2+ years of people‑management experience.
Experience managing community operations, including financial performance, customer service, communications, marketing, negotiation, crisis management, and staffing.
Proven ability to use data and reports to sustain high customer service, revenue, and expense goals.
Demonstrated success in resolving resident issues.
Experience supporting and developing subordinates, providing coaching that improves performance.
Professional judgment and composure; experience managing contracts with third‑party providers.
