Japanese Bilingual Assistant & Trade Sales Representative - Georgetown, KY
A Japanese Manufacturing company is currently seeking a full time, fully onsite Japanese Bilingual Assistant & Trade Sales Representative to join their Georgetown, KY location.
The role involves assisting sales representatives with new and ongoing projects, handling documentation, supporting import/export clearance, and ensuring smooth communication with vendors (including those in Japan). Travel within Kentucky and out-of-state (up to 25%) is required.
The pay for this position is 45k with great benefits.
Your Essential Duties
Create, input, and manage projects, POs, invoices, and related data using ERP (MS NAV).
Generate reports, logs, and documentation for sales processes.
Maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
Prepare statements, advance request forms, correspondence, memos, and letters (in English and Japanese).
Assist in preparing scheduled reports and confirming quotes.
Support vendor/customer registration and assist sales reps with new projects (delivery, launch, reporting, data input, material readiness).
Support product changes, engineering changes, and product closeouts.
Assist in generating bids, cost summaries, sales and forecast reports.
Support A/R and A/P reporting assigned to projects.
Assist with import/export clearance, including HS code assignment.
Track deadlines, monitor progress, and maintain project documentation.
Communicate with Japan vendors as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in management or related field
Minimum of 3 months’ relevant experience in a professional setting
Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel formulas and functions)
Excellent communication skills in English and Japanese (written and verbal)
Knowledge of engineering, business/account management, or manufacturing processes is a plus
Ability to travel and work on-site at customer locations
