Job Description

AECOM Advisory is seeking a dynamic Manager (Managing Consultant/Engagement Manager) to support our growing global Advisory business line. We want individuals who are mission‑driven to help clients achieve economic, environmental and social vibrancy. This role is available in Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; and Chicago, IL.
Building on AECOM's expertise in infrastructure design and implementation, AECOM Advisory is a trusted adviser to senior‑level clients and executive teams on their most pressing enterprise and strategic needs. Projects include supporting city housing incentive programs, regional resilience toolkits, and integrated human resources plans for utility systems.
Role

Architect, lead, and manage client engagements, building relationships and ensuring client buy‑in.
Coordinate with regional leadership, directors, client account managers, and technical experts to flag key delivery choices, risks, and commercial constraints.
Tailor existing and proven analytical frameworks and methodologies for client‑specific needs.
Collaborate with leadership to create new analytical frameworks for novel client challenges.
Lead delivery teams of 5‑8 consultants across multiple inter‑dependent workstreams, delivering:

Framework application and problem deconstruction.
AI‑driven baseline assessments and secondary research.
Stakeholder interviews, including C‑suite clients.
Business modelling (market sizing, segmentation, adoption) and investment analysis using DCF, CBA, EBITDA, NPV, IRR, CAGR.
Data visualization using ArcGIS, Costar, IMPLAN, Python, Tableau.
Executive‑ready decks and written narratives.
Coaching and mentoring junior staff.

Business Development

Support Capture Managers with proposal responses: narrative development, technical solutions, pricing, team definition, subcontractor engagement, risk review, compliance procedures.
Create pitch decks and define AECOM Advisory’s value proposition.
Provide commercial analysis of client needs, budgets, and research.
Required Competencies

Team‑player in a small, motivated consulting team.
Desired Competencies

Proficiency with data science techniques and public datasets (BLS, BEA, NAICS, ACS).
Geospatial expertise with ArcGIS.
Experience with input‑output or equilibrium economic modeling tools (Esmi, IMPLAN, REMI).
Programming skills (Stata, R, Python).
Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau).
Domain expertise: corporate strategy, market analysis, transformation, finance, M&A, technology, capital projects, climate action, economic development, broadband, etc.
Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree.
At least 6 years of management consulting or corporate strategy experience (or equivalent).
Preferred

MBA or master’s in operations research, management, finance, economics, or related fields.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ArcGIS, R or Python.
Experience evaluating public finance cash flows and financial modeling.
Additional Information

Position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Offered compensation range: $135,000 – $170,000 per year.
