Tax Services Senior Manager - FSO - State & Local Income Tax, EDGE
Join EY as a Senior Manager in our State & Local Income Tax practice within the Financial Services Organization (FSO). This role focuses on providing advanced technical tax services to US and global clients across banking, capital markets, wealth and asset management, insurance, real estate, hospitality and construction.
Opportunity EY’s FSO EDGE practice offers a dynamic environment with deep process and service delivery expertise. As part of the State and Local (SALT) team, you’ll grow with the practice while managing diverse, high-impact projects for hedge fund, private equity, banking and real‑estate clients.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights.
Identify potential opportunities and risks and communicate findings to clients.
Research current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor.
Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities.
Research clients’ business operations and build long‑lasting relationships to tailor advice to their specific needs.
Supervise a motivated team, ensuring they develop the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potential.
Skills & Attributes for Success Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
CPA, licensed Attorney or EA.
Minimum 8 years of professional experience in state and local income/franchise tax processes, concepts and tools.
Experience managing budgets, people, and projects.
A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
Ability to prioritize multiple complex projects.
Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes.
Preferred
Experience in professional services or in‑house wealth and asset management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, One Source Tax Compliance Software, Corptax, and/or Premium Pro.
Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
Ability to adapt work style to collaborate with internal and client teams.
