Vancouver, WA Work arrangement:
Position requires onsite work for the initial six-month period. After successful completion, eligible for a hybrid arrangement (3 onsite days, 2 remote days per week). Position status:
Full-time, 40 hours/week.

Responsibilities
Act as point of contact for Human Resources and serve as the liaison between the client and Xenium.
Serve as the primary HR advisor, independently managing day-to-day HR operations and employee relations.
Advise leaders on risk mitigation, consistency, and best practices.
Collaborate with Xenium payroll provider to deliver accurate, on-time payroll, troubleshoot, enter hours, maintain and audit.
Provide HR guidance and compliance support with minimal oversight, escalating complex or high‑risk matters.
Lead HR initiatives in partnership with the Xenium team for assistance/guidance with strategic HR issues.
Lead recruiting and hiring process; consult on selection decisions, equity, and compliance.
Partner with leadership to refine hiring practices and improve candidate experience.
Advise hiring managers on workforce planning, role scoping, and competitive hiring strategies.
Schedule and conduct new hire and benefits orientations; deliver follow‑up paperwork to Xenium and carriers.
Administer benefit plans; serve as employee point of contact for benefit inquiries.
Work with managers to ensure proper documentation for all HR aspects.
Serve as trusted advisor in employee counseling and termination decisions, lead meetings and manage all aspects of the termination process while partnering on risk and compliance considerations.
Lead and execute HR projects such as employee handbooks, wage surveys, HR audits, engagement surveys, and performance management programs.
Produce leave paperwork and assist with leave tracking.
Administer the workers’ compensation process.
Attend relevant seminars and workshops to stay abreast of HR best practices and employment law updates.
Maintain the personnel filing system for applicants, active and inactive employees.
Assist the Xenium team with responding to unemployment claims and participate in hearings when needed.
Drive and complete miscellaneous HR projects as assigned.

Required experience and skills
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university and 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, including significant employee relations responsibility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience working independently and advising leaders.
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, organisational, attention to detail, analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
Empathy while maintaining firm boundaries.
Ability to work independently while developing and fostering critical interdepartmental relationships.
Means to travel to field office (in Oregon) locations – day trips only.
Preferred skills and certifications
Human Resources certification preferred.
