FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule.
Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required but the ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send out independent contractors to perform this inspection. The purpose of the property inspection is: To verify property occupancy. To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant. Responsibilities
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned. Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments. Complete a short form in a mobile app. Make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards. Complete inspections in your county; you may split a county with another inspector if volume allows. Be able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory. Complete each inspection in approximately 5-6 minutes (most common type). Requirements
Computer with an internet connection. Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you will pay for your own gas). No mileage reimbursement above flat fee per inspection. Smartphone (Android or iPhone). Printer. Pass a standard background check and provide a valid driver's license. Pay and Hours
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume but typically yield $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on the county (urban or rural), you may complete 20‑500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates, while higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.
