Salary Range:

$3,409.83 – $5,094.16 (Monthly, Day shift, Up to 5% Travel, Regular, Full‑time, Nonexempt).

Essential Job Functions (EJFs)

Perform inspections, adjustments, maintenance and repair work on building systems (plumbing, HVAC, welding, carpentry, painting, electrical) to ensure proper operation.

Design, execute and document renovation or modernization projects, selecting appropriate materials and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Lead construction or maintenance projects, establishing work schedules, assigning staff, supervising repairs and renovations, and maintaining safe campus operations.

Process paperwork and maintain accurate records on work orders, projects and material requisitions.

Support agency disaster response and continuity of operations (COOP) activation as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge of building systems, industrial safety, fire and safety regulations; of building materials, plumbing and electrical fixtures; welding procedures, HVAC, sanitation and refrigeration.

Skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment; skill in preventative maintenance and inspections of buildings.

Ability to interpret drawings, schematics or sketches; to organize preventive maintenance programs; to supervise the work of others.

Ability to work independently or with a team; to communicate effectively orally or in writing with maintenance and facility staff.

Initial Screening Criteria

High School diploma, GED or relevant work experience (masonry, carpentry, painting, routine maintenance to residential homes).

Vocational training in a designated trade is preferred.

Valid TX driver’s license required.

Additional Information Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks (CANRS, Nurse Aide, Medication Aide, Employee Misconduct, HHS List of Excluded Individuals/Entities). Random drug testing and selective service registration are required for eligible males.

Flexibility in work hours may be required, including overtime, extended hours, weekends and holidays. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
