Key Responsibilities
Analyze architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and front‑end documents to accurately assess project scope.
Perform material takeoffs for miscellaneous metals projects, with some involvement in small-scale structural steel work as needed.
Enter material details—sizes, lengths, grades, coatings, and pricing—into Tekla Power Fab.
Request and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing from vendors.
Estimate shop labor requirements and costs.
Consolidate all cost elements into a comprehensive summary and review with the General Manager to assess risks, opportunities, and profit margins.
Coordinate with clients before bidding to clarify scope and develop bid strategies.
Follow up with clients regarding submitted bids and maintain active communication.
Assist in building and maintaining a database of unit prices and parametric assemblies for recurring products.
Prepare and lead detailed project turnover meetings with Project Managers after securing contracts.
Provide budgeting assistance to customers during early project stages.
Attend customer pre‑bid meetings to gather project details.
Support Project Managers with change order pricing when needed.
Cultivate strong, long‑term relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Participate in post‑project review meetings to analyze successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience estimating miscellaneous metals.
Proficiency in Tekla Power Fab preferred.
Experience with BlueBeam is a plus.
Familiarity with stainless steel and aluminum fabrication is a plus.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
