
Overview
Entry level position. Assistant Golf Professionals are involved in a various aspects within the golf operation and must be prepared to perform any task or duty required to maintain the smooth operation of the facility. Assistant Professionals work primarily with the outside service staff but must also be proficient with Golf Shop processes and merchandise offerings. Regular tasks include but are not limited to, checking in players, tendering Golf Shop transactions and purchases, starting players, staging golf cars, handling golf clubs, attending the range, monitoring staff breaks, and dealing with guest issues.
Candidates must have superior customer service skills and an exceptional work ethic. Candidates must also demonstrate good communication skills, be detail oriented, and have experience with both POS and golf reservations software.
Assistant Golf Professionals are expected to work outside year-round in all weather and be capable of standing for long periods of time on hard surfaces. Candidates will be on their feet all day when not on break and must be able to bend freely at the waist, knees, and ankles. Candidates must also be able to stretch and lift up to 50 pound objects to shoulder height.
Assistant Golf Professionals must also have seven day, all day availability.
Experience Required
Registered PGA Associate in good standing
Passed the Playing Ability Test
Passed Level One of the PGM Associate Program
Bachelor's degree from and accredited college or university
Minimum of one year of experience at a comparable golf facility
