Job Summary Shining Rock Golf Club is looking for a motivated and guest-focused
Assistant Golf Professional
to join our team. This role is vital to the daily operation of our 27-hole facility, supporting both the 6,800-yard championship course "The Rock" and our new 9-hole par-3 course, "The Acorn". The ideal candidate will assist in managing the pro shop, coordinating tournaments, and providing instructional services to enhance the member and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Golf Operations Support :
Manage the daily tee sheet, register players, and process point-of-sale (POS) transactions.
Maintain the golf shop’s professional appearance through effective merchandising and inventory management.
Supervise outside service staff to ensure the golf car fleet and practice facilities, including the grass-tee driving range, are staged and maintained to club standards.
Tournament & Event Support :
Assist in the planning and execution of club tournaments, corporate outings, and leagues.
Prepare tournament materials, including scorecards, cart signs, and rule sheets.
Customer Service & Administration :
Provide high-visibility service, addressing guest inquiries and maintaining a welcoming environment.
Manage the USGA handicap system (GHIN) for club members.
Assist in enforcing "pace of play" standards across both courses.
Requirements
PGA Status : PGA Associate or Class A Member in good standing (or actively working toward membership) optional but not required.
Experience : Prior experience in golf shop operations or hospitality preferred.
Skills : Strong interpersonal communication, proficiency with tournament software (e.g., Golf Genius), and basic knowledge of USGA Rules of Golf.
Availability : Flexibility to work 40-50 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.
Eligibility : Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
