Drafter
As a Drafter, you will assist in the planning and preparation of detailed drawings by applying standardized drawing techniques. This role involves working from detailed sketches, verbal instructions, and notes under the guidance of an engineer. You will be responsible for collecting initial drawings, calculations, and design ideas from engineers and combining the relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification. Responsibilities Apply company, client, and project drafting standards and procedures to draft control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment connection diagrams. Coordinate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details according to company standards and best practices. Provide a range of drawing production work including problem analysis, layout, detailing, and drafting on projects of substantial variety and complexity. Engage in drafting activities with designers and drafters in other disciplines. Communicate and correspond with internal design resources and external clients and personnel. Execute design changes and project drawing revisions. Maintain CAD proficiency and work toward mastering current CAD systems. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD Experience with Microstation Strong design and drafting abilities CAD proficiency Ability to work with design software such as Revit, Solidworks, Civil 3D, and structural design tools Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate of Science in Drafting Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology Work Environment The work environment involves using advanced design software and tools, including AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit, Solidworks, and Civil 3D. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other design professionals to ensure accuracy and compliance with drafting standards. The role requires strong communication skills to effectively correspond with internal and external stakeholders. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
