About The Position The Loan Officer will develop business contacts and attract mortgage customers. The role involves originating and negotiating mortgage loans, advising customers on loan options, and managing a portfolio of client relationships.
Essential Functions
Develop referral sources for purchase and refinance mortgages from realtors, builders, and professional contacts.
Build rapport, analyze financial situations, determine the appropriate loan product, and submit preliminary loan packages for processing.
Achieve sales and referral goals.
Develop a positive client experience consistently.
Recommend loan solutions per lending guidelines and client requirements.
Manage a portfolio of customer relationships effectively.
Seek prospective opportunities to retain and develop new clients.
Proactively expand referral network relationships to achieve sales goals.
Maximize personal productivity through attention to detail, self‑motivation, and adaptability.
Participate in continuing education opportunities.
Education and Experience
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in residential mortgage sales (preferred).
2+ years of retail, residential mortgage sales experience.
Documented success with residential purchase/refinance mortgage loans (preferred).
Established relationships with local referral networks.
Compliance with the SAFE Act, including background checks and NMLS Unique Identifier.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands No or very limited physical effort is required. Work is generally performed in a typical office work environment.
