Position Summary The Shop Foreman is responsible for maximizing technician billable hours, maintaining high-quality repair standards, and ensuring clear, effective communication between Service Technicians, Service Advisors, and customers. This role plays a critical part in daily shop operations, workflow efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Review and manage the dispatch schedule to ensure Service Technicians are producing billable work; adjust workflow as needed
Monitor daily production reports and take proactive action to improve efficiency
Support Service Advisors by assisting with workflow management, allowing them to focus on selling and processing repair orders
Review repair orders to ensure proper flat-rate application and that complaints, causes, and corrections are clear, complete, and accurate
Confirm required photos and documentation are captured for all warranty repairs
Anticipate, plan, and oversee vehicle movement in coordination with Lot Attendants
Coach, mentor, and motivate Service Technicians to achieve performance and quality goals
Lead by example using company core values as the operational guide
Assist management in maintaining appropriate staffing levels and identifying training needs
Perform workmanship and cleanliness inspections during and after repairs with a strong customer satisfaction focus
Serve as the liaison between Service Advisors and Service Technicians
Communicate directly with customers when additional information is needed regarding repairs
Establish, enforce, and maintain shop safety standards and cleanliness
Ensure shop vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and operational
Supervisory Responsibilities
Training and instruction on proper repair methods and procedures
Planning, scheduling, assigning, and monitoring work
Inspecting and approving completed repairs
Evaluating technician performance
Recommending corrective or disciplinary actions when necessary
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Shop Foreman and/or Dispatcher
Recreational vehicle experience and strong product knowledge preferred
Manufacturing or production environment experience preferred
Core Competencies
Excellent computer skills with strong attention to accurate data entry
Highly detail-oriented and well-organized
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures
