What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do We are looking for a leader and someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team as a Sous Chef. This individual must have extensive experience working in a high‑volume professional kitchen, hold a college degree in culinary arts and be a creative, motivated, hands‑on leader.
Attract, retain and motivate the best culinary talent.
Act in the absence of the Executive Chef to complete the daily ordering, using current par levels for all outlets, the employee cafeteria and banquets.
Perform any function within the culinary department (cook, steward, etc.).
Conduct daily walk‑throughs of the kitchen, recommending corrections, repairs, and cleanliness improvements.
Hold daily meetings with the team to ensure preparation and communication of pertinent information.
Attend weekly F&B meetings, BEO meetings, leadership meetings, monthly safety meetings and represent the culinary team.
Serve as the exemplary figure for the culinary team to follow.
Manage the finances of the department, analyze and control costs and manage the budget to achieve profitability.
Handle all food allergens with a high sense of urgency and provide thorough allergen knowledge to guests.
Ensure prep sheets are updated and used properly daily.
Guide nightly cleaning of all kitchen areas and follow up with the stewarding crew to keep the dish area organized for the following day’s service.
Assist the Executive Chef in the creation, costing and implementation of seasonal and special menus.
What We Are Looking For
College graduate in culinary arts.
Proficient in basic and advanced cooking methods.
Willing to work long hours, including weekends and holidays.
3+ years’ experience as a cook in a high‑volume professional kitchen.
Knowledge of food allergies and safety.
Strong organizational skills and independent work style.
Ability to work on your feet for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds.
Minimum age of 21 years.
Desire to exceed expectations and energetic personality.
Compensation $26.00 – $28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years of experience, certifications and specific location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
