Recertification Specialist

Shift Details: Full-time - 40 hours/week Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm or 7:30am-4:30pm Compensation: $26.00/hour Location: Nicollet Towers - 1350 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403 About the job: The Recertification Specialist is responsible for processing initial, annual, and interim recertifications to ensure compliance with Section 8 and Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs. In addition, this position assists with front desk operations and supports the Assistant Community Manager with questions and issues relating to tenant compliance. Job Highlights: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 403(b) Retirement Plan HSA and FSA Programs Employer paid Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Quality Training, continuing career education, and leadership programs Paid Time-Off (Vacation, Holiday, and Sick Days) Essentials: Review and maintain resident files, including weekly filing, to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations Ensure all certifications are processed within the required timelines Collect, review and verify income, assets, and household information for annual and interim recertifications in accordance with HUD regulations and program requirements Assist with marketing of vacant units and managing the waitlist as needed Provide front desk support, including answering phones, greeting residents, responding to general inquiries, and entering resident work orders Required Qualifications: High School Diploma 1+ years of experience in customer service or working in an office required Demonstrated ability to deal with stressful and demanding situations Excellent communication skills About Us: Nicollet Towers is part of Volunteers of America MN/WI which serves as an affiliate of Volunteers of America parent organization.
