Job Description
Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
Verify patient demographic info/initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general.
Job Requirements
Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.
Committed to all Policies & Procedures including Company dress code, Employee Health & Safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
Make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
Have reliable transportation, a valid driver license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).
Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and cover Patient Service Center/In‑Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.
Demonstrate superior customer focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business.
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).
Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience.
Additional Job Details
Pediatric experience or willingness to gain pediatric experience.
Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from worksite without issue (bus, Uber, rideshare considered unreliable).
Must be available to work whenever scheduled, be on time, and stay for the entire shift.
Excessive absenteeism/tardiness is not tolerated and will be cause for termination.
Please ensure that you are verifying the commute time to/from the physical work location when submitting candidates.
Candidates need to be within a 20–25 minute commute window to ensure their ability to travel to/from the site for coverage.
