Job Description
Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
Verify patient demographic info/initials, including patient signature post‑venipuncture to confirm tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public.
Job Requirements
Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
Work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.
Committed to all policies & procedures including company dress code, employee health & safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
Make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
Have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record if applicable.
Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and cover Patient Service Center/In‑Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
Handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.
Demonstrate superior customer focus; communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; embrace change and possess knowledge of our business.
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).
Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience
1‑3 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred).
Customer service in a retail or service environment (highly preferred).
Keyboard/data entry experience.
Additional Job Details
Pediatric experience or willingness to gain pediatric experience.
Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from worksite without issue (bus, Uber, rideshare is not reliable transportation).
Must be available to work whenever scheduled, BE ON TIME, and stay for the entire shift.
Excessive absenteeism/tardiness is not tolerated and will be cause for termination.
Verify commute time to/from the physical work location when submitting candidates.
Candidates need to be within a 20‑25 min commute window to ensure their ability to travel to/from the site for coverage.
