Therapeutic Specialist, HCV/PBC - Indianapolis
Job Description
Gilead Sciences is committed to discovering, developing and delivering therapies that improve the lives of patients with life‑threatening illnesses worldwide. The Therapeutic Specialist, PBC / HCV, will represent Gilead’s products and services to a defined customer base, generate and grow sales, and consistently exceed sales targets in the Indianapolis territory.
Key responsibilities include developing strong relationships with healthcare professionals, providing disease‑awareness education, presenting clinical updates, monitoring sales progress, managing budgets, representing the company at professional events, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams. The role requires compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and Gilead’s commercial compliance policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Achieve coverage and frequency targets and consistently meet or exceed sales targets in assigned territory.
Contribute to regional training and help develop key skills of other team members.
Initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans, measure success, and provide performance feedback.
Collaborate with outside partner companies to co‑promote products or services.
Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
Represent the company at professional events and promote products at such events.
Work cooperatively with Medical Science Liaisons, National Account Managers, Marketing, and other internal Gilead team members on cross‑functional projects.
Identify and resolve issues and opportunities, communicating proactively to marketing and sales management.
Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., updating customer database, tracking expenses).
Operate in compliance with Gilead commercial compliance policy and all applicable federal and state laws and guidance.
Build and extend business relationships with key customers or accounts.
Assume responsibility for achieving the competency levels required in the role.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Five Years’ Experience
OR
Master's Degree and Three Years’ Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven expertise in interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with strong influencing and negotiating abilities.
Working knowledge of relevant therapeutic/disease/product area.
Familiarity with industry trends and current competitor resources and practices.
Ability to identify rising issues and opportunities and to present communication arguments to management/marketing.
Solid analytical skills, capable of understanding moderately complex issues and providing appropriate recommendations.
Experience working in cross‑functional teams.
Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and independently.
Previous pharmaceutical experience is essential; relevant therapeutic working knowledge is desirable.

Salary range for this position is:
$115,260.00 – $149,160.00. Compensation may also include discretionary annual bonus, stock‑based long‑term incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
