Job Overview The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for producing designs for generator enclosures, UL listed fuel tanks, sub‑frames and service platforms. Direction will be given by the engineering manager through submittal drawings and schedule to carry out the detail production design. The engineer will take the customer approval package and create a production‑ready design with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Create production‑ready model, drawings and work packets of products within estimate hours.

Manage engineering from approved customer drawing package through final production stage.

Perform engineering calculations for wind and seismic loading including design of reinforcement structure if required.

Quickly resolve any issues on the shop floor with production manager.

Ensure designs conform to company design standards.

Responsible for accuracy of drawings to prevent rework and scrap.

Follow and adhere to production schedule for production design release dates to shop floor.

Write and release standard process documentation as required.

Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Proficiency in Solidworks, PDM, Excel, and ERP software.

High attention to details.

Hands‑on production and mechanical design experience.

Thorough understanding of sheet metal and weldment design.

Knowledgeable of Solidworks best practices.

Understanding of machine capabilities and fabrication equipment with respect to the constraints it places on creating efficient manufacturable designs.

Strong work ethic with demonstrated accountability.

Able to work efficiently with minimum supervision.

Familiar with OSHA, UL, and NEC codes.

Ability to problem solve, find root causes, and take preventive or corrective actions.

Additional Information All positions require customer focus with a service‑oriented attitude as well as attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt to changes in daily activities is essential. Ability to travel and work overtime/weekends, as needed, to meet customer and in‑house demands.
