Rare Disease Sales Specialist

We are seeking a performance-driven Rare Disease Sales Specialist who is passionate about making a difference in healthcare. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of territory business development, cultivating relationships within key targets, driving disease awareness and education, and identifying rare disease patients with health‑care professionals, including rheumatologists. The position requires strong clinical and disease‑state knowledge and the ability to understand the complexities of the U.S. market to facilitate new account development while supporting the growth of existing accounts. You will collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager and stakeholders such as marketing, medical affairs, healthcare systems, and operations to ensure alignment on integrated strategic plans. The Rare Disease Specialist will also support appropriate patient education programs as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Develop new accounts and grow existing accounts through solid customer relationships, communication of technical product and disease‑state information, and effective territory management skills.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, HCPs, office staff, and other key stakeholders within hospital settings.
Implement key marketing programs to increase the market share of key promoted products.
Apply a patient‑focused hospital selling model with effective opening, probing, listening, and closing skills on customer calls.
Maintain proper call frequency with assigned targets and update as needed to ensure time is aligned with current product focus.
Develop and implement territory business plans consistent with corporate direction designed to achieve or exceed territory sales targets.
Use appropriate resources to create a compelling and logical rationale for the value of promoted products during informed discussions with customers, comparing, contrasting, and positioning the client’s brand(s) versus competitor products.
Review and evaluate patterns for products purchased and prescribed (outpatient vs. inpatient infusion, hospital contracts, etc.).
Comprehend complex account interdependencies to proactively develop and execute short‑ and long‑term account plans in collaboration with the account team and supervisor.
Ensure a consistent customer experience by effectively communicating and collaborating with the Associate Sales Director, Hospital Accounts, Corporate Account Managers, Field Reimbursement Managers, Medical Science Liaison, and others.
Exhibit outstanding competency in account management, external market focus, one‑to‑one customer interactions, clinical expertise, and business acumen.
Key Job Specifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience required.
Prior rheumatology, hematology, and rare disease experience preferred.
Understand the dynamics of rare diseases and the patient journey.
Proven track record of sales success and exceeding goals.
Capable of developing district plans, developing team members, and driving execution of team territory business plans.
Demonstrated history of documented achievement of sales performance.
