Description The Customer Success Specialist will work closely with the Customer Success Manager/Director to understand client goals and deliver ROI across all services. The role focuses on Attendee Registration, Account Standard Operating Procedures, Support, and Training, collaborating with operations, internal and external teams while adhering to corporate and pharmaceutical guidelines. The specialist may assist with business development, provide knowledge to the team, and lead regular CSS‑specific calls or meetings to enhance skills and build camaraderie.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Data Management Services: Full understanding of account internal processes including client agreements, change orders, PO management, payment request processing, quality control, event deadline coordination, budget creation/management, reconciliation, and on‑site budget management.
Limited & Full Program Management Services: Serve as Attendee Experience Coordinator; compile and distribute executive summaries and post‑event reports; source and secure venues; manage travel letters, meeting agenda, initial meeting resume; update system profiles; research third‑party vendors; provide on‑site preparation assistance (badge layout/production, binder, registration packet, pre‑mailer, supply shipment); manage vendor communication and negotiation; handle shipping and receiving.
Account Management / Administrative Services: Admin assistance to M&W Customer Success Manager/Director and other stakeholders; manage miscellaneous account projects (e.g., new meeting entry, backup support, meeting minutes, post‑meeting survey and file closure).
Training and Onboarding: Establish onboarding structures, track training for all associates, train new hires with the basic Merck program.
Congress Management (Life Science Accounts Only): Support Event Experience Managers for congress meetings; train managers on congress processes; participate in congress calls; manage ancillaries; aid new business opportunities.
On‑Site Services: Lead by example, communicate meeting information and on‑site requirements to the team, and exhibit teamwork.

Minimum 3‑5 years of meetings industry operations experience
Proficient in Cvent
Knowledge of virtual and hybrid event options
Pharma experience a plus

Travel at least 25% of the time, including internationally
Experience in virtual office environments
Computer skills: Word, Excel, internet/social media, database management (Lanyon, Cvent), Outlook
