Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kent Country Club was established in 1896 and prides itself on being one of the premier private clubs in West Michigan. The club offers an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Donald Ross, practice range, short game area, and indoor Trackman studio with 2 hitting bays. Kent Country Club has a no tee-time policy and does approximately 18,000 rounds annually.
Kent Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional to provide exceptional service and play a key part in all areas of the golf operation. This position is a great opportunity for a PGA Professional or Apprentice to further their career and join a terrific team atmosphere. The Assistant position will be seasonal (April-October) and will offer great work/life balance working on average 40-50 hours per week with 2 days off.
Experience Required
Golf Course experience, private experience preferred
PGA member or working towards PGA membership
Essential Responsibilities The Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Director of Golf in all areas of the golf operation. Below are some key areas of responsibility:
Manage daily opening and closing of golf operations
Oversee club outside operations and caddie program
Member Tournament & League management
Assist with Junior Golf program (150 participants in 2025)
Merchandising and inventory management
Perform starter and ranger duties as needed
Play golf with members
Private instruction and club fitting opportunities available for right candidates
