Responsibilities
Support and perform collection activities on delinquent and negative accounts.
File garnishments, levies, total loss, safety net claims, and ensure timely refunds of backend products to limit loss for the credit union.
Process debt protection claims and benefit payments for disability, unemployment, and death.
Research delinquent accounts, coordinate with the internal credit solutions team, and complete final collection efforts via letters, statements, and garnishments.
Verify employment status and file court judgments for bad debt, maintaining the company’s professional image.
Qualifications Education / Certification
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience
1‑3 years of related experience, including preparatory positions.
Prior administrative experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of collection procedures, laws, and regulations.
Understanding of company policies.
Ability to keep finances in order.
Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Self‑directed, minimal supervision.
Adherence to core values: honesty, truth, respect, and integrity.
High attention to detail.
