Billing Specialist Opportunity
We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our client in Providence, Rhode Island. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with client requirements. You will collaborate closely with team members and attorneys to support efficient invoicing and assist with client inquiries. Responsibilities: Communicate with internal teams to address time entries and billing concerns, ensuring timely follow-ups. Prepare, process, and finalize client invoices, including work-in-progress and pre-bills, while adhering to client-specific requirements. Edit attorney billing statements for accuracy, including corrections for grammar and spelling. Review and reconcile balances in Work In Progress and Accounts Receivable to maintain accuracy. Respond to client requests for billing histories, invoice copies, and trust ledger details. Monitor and track billing cycle timelines to ensure efficient processing. Assist attorneys with time entry tasks as needed. Learn and audit client and matter opening procedures to identify potential billing issues. Enter client-specific billing details into online portals in compliance with provided guidelines. Collaborate within a three-person billing team to share responsibilities effectively. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college coursework is a plus. Previous experience in legal billing is preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and familiarity with billing software. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines with efficiency. Strong organizational skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate work needs and take initiative. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
