Collections Specialist - Tampa
Work type: Full time, onsite, contract to hire Pay: $20-24/hr Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day collections processes for all accounts in assigned portfolio. Achieve collection targets (e.g., aging of accounts receivable, collection activity volume). Review accounts daily, identify troubled accounts, and escalate potential risks to the Manager. Conduct periodic AR review meetings with Service Centers. Perform account reconciliations, research billing discrepancies, and submit adjustments to the Billing department. Report misapplied payments to the Cash Application department. Investigate unapplied on-account payments and assist Cash Application with reconciliations. Report duplicate and overpayments promptly; coordinate with Cash Application to notify customers and process refunds. Collaborate with the Legal department for timely filing of Lien and Bond claims when applicable. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts. Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with account reconciliation and billing processes.
