Position Overview Join us in Los Angeles, CA as a Business Development Specialist:
Healthcare sales experience preferred.
Knowledge of rehabilitation interventions.
Working knowledge of neurological conditions such as stroke, brain & spinal cord injuries, amputations, and related conditions.
Experience with commercial insurance and Worker's Compensation.
Built‑in network within surrounding healthcare market.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, organized, and creative individual who welcomes the challenges of business development. You will build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, network, and maintain an extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
Responsibilities
Cultivate strong business relationships with key decision makers.
Proactively identify new opportunities and deliver innovative solutions to customers.
Develop market strategies by researching lists of high‑potential prospects.
Perform business development initiatives, including calling on potential new key accounts in the healthcare field.
Sustain a record of high achievement in business development and renewed business evidenced by quarterly and annual growth of new referrals.
Speak directly with new and existing healthcare clients to explain features and benefits of services offered based on the client’s needs.
Develop and implement account‑specific marketing approaches for each referral source; observe and document sales trends and competitors’ activities and evaluate market conditions.
Identify and prioritize high‑dollar/volume accounts and, with the Executive Director and Director of Business Development, prepare annual sales/marketing plans; implement approved plans and evaluate/update them as indicated on a monthly basis.
Visit/ contact potential clients—including hospitals, payers, families, and physicians—to promote programs and organize local, specialized marketing events in conjunction with the Executive Director on a monthly basis designed to educate consumers about programs.
Attend pertinent industry trade shows and conferences to promote company services; prepare literature and flyers to target specific customer groups as needed.
Provide timely updates to the company database with account contacts and ensure pre‑established criteria for frequency of contacts are met.
Input, track, and report account information and marketing activity in the specified format on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis; keep abreast of industry trends and competitive activity and update information as required.
Complete payer pipeline and account information projects as required.
Collaborate with operational and clinical team members to ensure the best outcomes for all patients.
Participate in weekly sales team calls and bi‑weekly coaching calls as directed by the Director of Business Development.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Business Development.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of brand development experience, 5 years of sales and profit building in a management position, and a proven, successful sales track record.
Neuro rehabilitation licensed clinicians (Physical, Occupational, Speech, Recreational Therapy, Social Worker) considered in lieu of brand development and sales experience.
Experience in Rehab Services, health/home care, human services, pharmacy, and/or other medical outside sales preferred.
Effective communication skills, professionalism, and customer focus are essential.
Must have executive‑level knowledge of business development and strategic planning.
Must be self‑motivated and able to think outside the box.
