Technical Business Development Representative - Detroit/Chicago
Join ADI Global Distribution as a Technical Business Development Representative. The role focuses on driving territory sales through technical product discussions with our customers, collaborating on cross‑sell opportunities, and integrating our exclusive brand products into proposals.
Job Description The Technical Sales BDM will serve as an internal manufacturer’s representative, generating demand and driving adoption of AV products. Success requires excellent technical presentation skills, deep knowledge of Pro AV product lines, and the comfort level to meet with engineers, salespeople, owners, and C‑Suite personnel.
Job Duties
Work closely with the regional ProAV sales team to drive business in your region, supporting local stores by coordinating engagement and training with customers.
Provide technical support to strategic brands and act as the technology subject‑matter expert; meet with ProAV integrators to discuss product solutions and advise on the right solution for specific projects.
Conduct proactive outreach and targeted selling efforts to promote AV products among existing customers.
Attend industry events to discuss product solutions and provide training for customers.
Achieve sales targets, report metrics, and identify new opportunities to hit targets.
Facilitate system designs with the internal design team and professional services teams.
Effectively communicate with management regarding job duties and responsibilities.
Report metrics accurately and consistently in sales management tools.
Respond swiftly to customer needs and capture every sales opportunity.
You Must Have
Three or more years of experience in the Audio Visual industry with strong client and executive relationship management.
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Active, clean driver’s license.
