Overview
A lovely family in Austin, TX is seeking a nanny to help care for their new daughter, who will be 5-months-old when the position begins in January 2026. Ideally, they would like to find the right candidate to start by January 8th, 2026. The general schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am-8pm, for 60 hours per week guaranteed. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful, diligent, and mature individual who will bring their full focus and attention to their role during the workday. The family is open for the role to be either live-in or live-out, and are open to relocating the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Overall care of their daughter
Attentive, age-appropriate care (feeding, diapering, naps, playtime)
Developmental support: tummy time, reading, sensory activities
Communicating with parents regarding activities and well-being
Child-related household help: laundry, tidying nursery, dishes
Prepare bottles and fresh, healthy, age-appropriate meals/snacks
Take infant on walks and outings (e.g., museums, libraries) with parents' approval
Care for infant when unwell (including, if necessary and with parents' approval, taking infant to doctor and procuring and administering necessary medication)
Upon request, preparing for child-related weekend activities and trips
Occasional domestic and international travel
Qualifications
Warm and caring
Even tempered
Optimistic and forward-thinking
Curious about the world around them and ready for new adventures with the daughter
Prepared to limit screen time to only essential communications
Kind, courteous and respectful
Well‑organised and tidy (both in the nursery and personal space)
Strong work ethic
Fluency in French, German or Italian preferred, but not required
Early child develeopment courses or a related degree is ideal, but not a requirement
May include travel (approximately once per quarter) to domestic or international locations
Requirements
Infant and toddler experience
Valid Driver's license and clear driving record
Animal friendly, the family is hoping to get a dog in the near future
Excellent communication skills
Full, current vaccinations including flu, tdap, and covid
Valid Passport
Legal to work in the US
