Server-Fine Dining (on-site)

Employee standards:

To ensure high levels of hospitality every time you are in contact with guests. To be attentive to guest needs at all times. To be responsible for assisting during services, including but not limited to, the initial guest experience, clearly and efficiently communicating with all guests and staff. Additionally to also ensure guest service meets company standards with customer satisfaction maintained at all times. Interacts with the restaurant guests, fellow staff members, and supervisors in a polite, courteous and hospitable manner to ensure an exemplary dining experience. Also actively takes orders, makes personal recommendations, conducts full and complete food/wine/beverage service, and monitors guests’ dining experience.

Reports to:

Primarily to Front of the House operations management with an equal standard of respect and professionalism to the BOH management team (chefs).

FSLA Status:

Hourly Non-Exempt

Beverly Hills Minimum wage + % of the Tip Pool

PRIMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides professional and exceptional service

Responsible for maintaining professionalism and kindness when interacting with guests and staff

Conduct themselves in a manner that is both presentable and professional at all times

Maintains consistent and clear communication with all

Greet customers upon their departure

Must be on-site with absolutely no possibility of remote work

Provide prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to our guests.

Provides help and support to all colleagues.

Possesses in-depth knowledge of products, menus, food, beverages, wines, and general information about the company.

Performs and completes all side work as described.

Respond to guests’ questions and their needs.

Work as a team.

Communicate to FOH and BOH support staff including managers, servers and chef.

Learn and teach fellow colleagues.

Ensures the working area has a high standard of cleanliness and follows health code requirements.

Properly set-up station and side stations including:

Square-off seats, tables, make sure all tables and chairs/banquettes are clean and free of debris

Help servers set tables/buffets exact to managers orders

Wipe down chairs and table bases

Stock side stations with appropriate materials

Perform opening side work as described for specific sections

Attend and participate in daily pre-shift meetings.

Always smiles and greets guests warmly and genuinely.

Properly executes all event formats (reception, buffet, seated dinner, stations, etc.)

Reports any incidents of theft, vandalism, or violations of the house rules or breaches of security or safety regulations.

Reports all breakages or damaged equipment immediately to management.

Provide professional and exceptional guest service.

Clear empty glasses, dirty plates, used silverware

Clean and wipe tabletop and keep free of debris and food

Sweeps and wipes spills from the venue floor

Help set table for next course

Clear and reset tables after guests have left

Perform shift opening and closing side work as described.

Properly serves wine and alcohol (with awareness).

Delivers food and beverages to tables.

Maintains tables and tableware.

Presents and reconciles checks.

Collects cash or credit cards from guests.

Clears and resets tables.

Carries out closing procedures and sidework.

Completely and accurately fills out financial paperwork.

Submits complete and accurate paperwork and cash to the manager.

Complies with all occupational, health, and safety standards.

Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions, regarding food and beverage.

Requests identification from guests ordering alcohol

WORKING CONDITIONS

Overtime when or as needed approved or directed by management

Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling

Working in an indoor/ outdoor location (subject to weather changes& varying temperatures)

Lifting equipment up to 50 pounds (when necessary)

Constantly position self to maintain any equipment or tools necessary to the position

Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder or stool to move or transfer equipment needed for the position

Constantly works in indoor or outdoor weather condition/ temperatures

Move, Transport, position, put, and or remove equipment up to 50 pounds (when necessary)

Work in all or some different spaces of the restaurant depending on service (mainly in the open dining area, offices, storage, kitchen, back or exterior of the restaurant)

The ability to converse, discern, convey and express professionally when exchanging information or directing staff/peers in a professional work setting.

The ability to observe details

Constantly operates office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, and Toast system.

Experience/Skills

At least 2 years of server experience in a high-volume establishment.

Strong communication in person

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a deadline-driven manner while working in a demanding environment
