Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant. Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes. Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned. Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards. Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments. Complete a short form in an app. Spend extended periods of time driving and making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory. Requirements
Computer with an internet connection Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you will be paying for your own gas) Smartphone (Android or iPhone) Printer Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license Pay and Hours
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying by county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of
$30-$40 per hour . Depending on county and urban/rural status, you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month, working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates, while higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set minimum, but work is steady month-to-month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
