Responsibilities
Assist the head chef in preparing and cooking meals
Oversee and manage the kitchen staff in the absence of the head chef
Ensure that all food is prepared and presented according to established recipes and quality standards
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
Collaborate with the head chef to develop new menu items and specials
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, continuing development of staff and new training techniques.
Requirements
Previous experience as a sous chef or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety regulations
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
