About Illumend
We're making insurance compliance simple. At illumend, we bring 15 years of deep expertise built at myCOI to create an intelligent platform that simplifies insurance compliance, connecting teams, partners, and brokers in one clear workflow powered by AI.
The Role We're hiring a Velocity Account Executive—someone who thrives in high‑energy, high‑volume environments and loves the satisfaction of moving deals quickly. This full‑cycle, full‑time, fully remote (EST preferred) role involves running efficient 30‑day (or less) sales cycles, delivering compelling demos, and consistently hitting numbers. You own the deal from first contact to signed contract, with minimal travel that may be required for industry conferences.
Key Responsibilities
Handle assigned leads with urgency: jump on inbound opportunities fast and build rapport to move prospects through the pipeline.
Qualify, present, and demo the product: ask the right questions to understand pain points, decision‑making process, timeline, and budget, and showcase how illumend transforms compliance chaos into seamless workflows.
Work closely with Sales Manager, CEO, and COO on weekly 1:1s, team huddles, and strategic initiatives.
Accurately maintain CRM records and sales stages, tracking every interaction and update deal stages in real time to keep pipeline visibility.
Hit monthly activity and conversion goals: meet or exceed monthly activity targets (calls, demos, meetings) and revenue goals, navigating objections and closing SMB deals in 30 days or less.
Actively participate in weekly coaching and team huddles, ready to learn, share successes, and contribute to the team’s success.
Required Skills & Experience
1+ year of experience in SaaS sales, with full sales cycle experience strongly preferred.
Proven ability to manage high‑volume pipelines and move fast without sacrificing quality.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex ideas clearly and deliver compelling presentations.
Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Passion for technology and problem‑solving, with a genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence and the ability to articulate its business impact.
Coachable, resilient, and eager to grow into a senior sales role.
Proficient with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and modern sales tools.
Bonus: Experience in compliance, risk management, insurtech, or B2B SaaS.
Why Join
Build and scale a new AI product from the ground up, influencing product development and the sales playbook.
Operate with autonomy and creativity inside a startup‑like team backed by 15 years of industry expertise.
Clear path to promotion: start in velocity, master fundamentals, then move into mid‑market or enterprise sales.
Real coaching and development through weekly 1:1s, team training sessions, and direct collaboration with the CEO and CSO.
Remote flexibility, working from anywhere in the US (EST preferred).
Competitive compensation and benefits, with a fair base salary plus uncapped commission.
Culture built on trust—ownership, experimentation, and collaboration.
Compensation and Reporting
Location: Remote/EST – minimal travel required, primarily for industry conferences.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the CEO with heavy operational collaboration with the COO.
Compensation: Competitive base salary + uncapped commission structure designed to reward performance.
Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; generous PTO; professional development budget; modern tech stack.
