Position Summary
Walmart is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to install, maintain and upgrade low voltage systems including security, fire alarm, CCTV, audio/video and network cabling at a Grand Rapids, MI location. What you'll do
Set up and configure low voltage systems (e.g., security, fire alarms, CCTV, AV, network cabling). Run, terminate, and label cables according to project requirements and industry standards. Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability. Identify and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime. Provide technical support and train end users on system operation and maintenance. Address customer inquiries and concerns efficiently and professionally. Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and follow safety guidelines. Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs. Generate reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities. Evaluate existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed and perform upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards. Work closely with technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions. Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Lead and participate in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges. Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities. Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems. High school diploma or equivalent. Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. Prior work experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards. Preferred Qualifications
BICSI Installer Certification, CompTIA certifications for networking (e.g., Network+), Manufacturer‑specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems). NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification. OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification/training. Technical training or certification in low voltage systems. Primary Location

Competitive pay range: $26.00–$51.00 per hour plus possible premiums $0.35–$3.00 per hour depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
