San Angelo Market - Perishables Rep - Part-Time
H-E-B is looking for an energetic and motivated partner to work as a Perishable Representative in the San Angelo Market. The role is part‑time and focuses on delivering excellent customer service while maintaining a well‑stocked and sanitary department.
Responsibilities
Provide superior customer service and take orders by telephone or in person.
Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products on a daily basis, ensuring proper labeling, rotation, and presentation.
Maintain all department and food safety/sanitation standards, including cleaning and sanitizing display cases and operating equipment.
Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales; make regular announcements about fresh products.
Assist in technical areas as needed and help other departments (Floral, Produce, Market, Aguas, Seafood) with their specific product tasks.
Meet weight and physical performance requirements for each department (e.g., lift up to 90 lbs in Market, 50 lbs in Seafood).
Background / Qualifications
Minimum age 18 and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to function in a fast‑paced, retail environment and handle manual handling tasks safely.
Computer systems knowledge (Telxon, ACR, label machine).
Reading and writing skills, and the ability to plan and organize duties effectively.
