Responsibilities
Maintain a well‑stocked, well‑presented produce department and deliver superior customer service.
Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh produce, including packing, labeling, and rotating products.
Operate Telxon, ACR, and label machines to scan items and manage inventory.
Adhere to H‑E‑B food safety, sanitation, and SOPs while keeping display cases clean and equipment functioning.
Use suggestive selling techniques and make regular announcements to increase sales.
Assist with technical areas and cross‑train with other departments (floral, Aguas, market, seafood, produce).
Stand, walk, pivot, and lift in accordance with safe‑lifting limits.
Participate in company orientation, safety training, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and function in a retail setting.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Computer systems knowledge (Telxon, ACR, label machine).
Physical capability to lift 90 lbs for market or 50 lbs for seafood (meeting safe lifting limits).
Minimum age 18; completion of company orientation and safety training.
