Responsibilities
Lead the residential appraisal review area, serving as liaison, efficiency expert, and problem-solver between loan production and the Appraisal Review Department.
Automate the appraisal procurement, review, scoring, and system monitoring process to ensure industry best practices and provide a competitive advantage.
Manage daily operations, focusing on increasing reliability, accuracy, and efficiencies in procurement and review of residential real estate appraisals for consumer and mortgage lending across all regions.
Perform appraisal reviews as required.
Develop, administer, and manage training for appraisal review specialists and applicable bank staff.
Manage the consumer and mortgage lending appraisal dispute function and resolve appraisal disputes and complaints.
Perform project management leadership functions as a project manager or team member.
Drive process improvement initiatives, including gathering and documenting business requirements.
Apply data analytics, MS Office, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, TEAMS, SQL, and Python to the role.
Assist in all phases of third-party supplier risk management life cycle for valuation services vendors.
Keep abreast of industry knowledge and regulations to ensure compliance.
Provide oversight to executive management by developing and providing various departmental reports.
Facilitate efficient integration of all applicable operating systems.
Ensure compliance with bank policies, federal regulations, and USPAP standards.
Interpret and implement current regulations.
Order appraisals to control costs, ensure independence, and give proper instructions.
Hire, transfer, terminate, and evaluate performance of direct reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related fields.
6+ years of directly related appraisal, credit, or financial analysis or equivalent experience.
Management experience required; experience in a federally regulated institution preferred.
Certified Residential Appraiser license required at a minimum.
Professional appraisal association designation preferred.
Advanced knowledge of appraisals, appraisal practices, principles, and methods.
Advanced knowledge of audit procedures and legal and regulatory requirements.
Strong management, client relations, and communication skills.
Advanced analysis and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work with internal and external clients.
Eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $115,000 to $145,000 annually depending on experience and location.
