YOUR ROLE AT CNG ENGINEERING As a Senior Mechanical Engineer , you will serve as a technical leader, mentor, and collaborator. You’ll guide HVAC and plumbing projects from concept through construction, support the growth of your team, and help deliver environments that are efficient, sustainable, and equitable for the people who use them.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Lead with Excellence:

Serve as Engineer of Record for mechanical and plumbing disciplines.

Design and develop HVAC and plumbing systems that prioritize performance, sustainability, and occupant comfort.

Perform and verify load calculations to support sound engineering decisions.

Collaborate as a Team:

Provide overall direction for the MEP design team from project inception through completion.

Lead design and construction meetings with clarity, respect, and accountability.

Partner with Business Development to build trusted client relationships and support repeat work.

Mentor & Grow Others:

Support and mentor junior engineers and designers through guidance, feedback, and shared learning.

Conduct regular, objective check-ins that support professional development and annual performance reviews.

Persevere Through Challenges:

Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, schedules, and budgets.

Navigate complex design and construction challenges with confidence and optimism.

Deliver with Integrity:

Review submittals and shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and participate in construction administration.

Conduct site visits and field observations to ensure designs are implemented as intended.

Prepare and manage contracts, fee proposals, and negotiations responsibly and transparently.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering

Active Professional Engineering (PE) license

Minimum 5 years as a licensed Professional Engineer

Ability to obtain Texas PE licensure

10+ years of MEP design experience in municipal/aviation, education, healthcare, or commercial sectors

7+ years of hands-on MEP design experience

3+ years of project management experience

3+ years of direct supervisory experience over an MEP design team
