Direct Care Worker II (DCW II) Overview

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) seeks a caring and compassionate applicant for the role of Direct Care Worker II. The DCW II is a shift supervisor position that provides oversight and direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build professional experience and advance within DDS. Responsibilities

Assist individuals in meeting personal care and nutritional needs. Support individuals in making choices in their lives. Maintain individuals’ rights by complying with applicable laws and regulations. Provide leisure activities and drive individuals to work, appointments, and recreational activities. Supervise and train Direct Care Worker I staff to ensure they act as advocates and demonstrate respect for individuals with developmental disabilities. Oversee health and safety as shift supervisor, including medication administration. Communicate with medical and health care providers regarding health concerns and accompany individuals to appointments as necessary. Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of practices and procedures to assure health and safety of individuals, including evacuation procedures. Ability to plan, assign, and coordinate activities of others. Ability to provide clear written or oral instructions. Schedule

Shift: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM (Evening). Days off: Friday/Saturday. This is a 24‑hour/7‑day staff position requiring mandatory overtime when necessary. Location

Templeton Community Services Program, Templeton, MA. Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of full‑time or equivalent part‑time experience providing direct support services to persons with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Or an Associate’s degree or higher in a human services field. Valid driver’s license required. Benefits
