Job Title: Press Brake Operator Pay: $25-$35/hr Shift: 1st - 6:00am-2:30pm - Monday-Friday Location: Marlboro, NY/Saugerties, NY Job Description: The Press Brake Operator is primarily responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating a press brake for the purposes of forming sheet-metal parts for production. This role requires creativity and ownership of the forming department, with an ability to think outside the box. Responsibilities: Set tools and dies in position on the press brake according to work order instructions. Retrieve engineering drawings from the ERP system for reference. Obtain raw materials from stock as required by the job. Record labor hours spent and materials used by job, using the ERP system. Inspect first article parts using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures, according to the dimensions and tolerances specified on the engineering drawing. Record inspection results on the work order traveler or in the ERP system. Adjust bend parameters at the machine until all part dimensions are within tolerance. Perform in-process dimension checks to ensure parts are within tolerance. Complete production orders as per the production schedule. Document setup procedures for new parts. Essential Skills: Proficiency in press brake operation, sheet metal fabrication, and blueprint reading. Strong understanding of machine operation, particularly with press brakes. Ability to inspect and assemble parts, and operate shear and punch presses. Experience in fabrication and bending metal. Additional Skills & Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years experience in setting up and operating press brakes in a manufacturing environment. Good mechanical skills with manufacturing machines and tools. Functional use of calipers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures for measuring part features. Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings and perform simple arithmetic to calculate tolerance ranges. Detail-oriented with a focus on following procedures. Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Why Work Here? The company is part of a larger entity, Community Holdings, which owns several facilities in the area. The work schedule operates on a single shift from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marlboro, NY. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
