Blue Palms Senior Living of DeLand is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will be responsible for providing direct care to our residents while ensuring the safe administration of medication. Your knowledge and expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall well-being of our residents. Administer medication to residents according to prescribed orders and established policies and procedures Document medications administered and any observed reactions or changes in resident condition Monitor residents for any possible adverse reactions to medication and report findings to the nurse Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as dressing, grooming, and bathing Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents, promoting their dignity and independence Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized medication room and stock supplies as needed Requirements
Valid certification as a Medication Aide High School Diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a long-term care or assisted living facility Excellent knowledge of medication administration procedures and guidelines Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively Compassionate and patient-centered approach to resident care Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records systems (EMR) Current CPR and First Aid certification
