Hallmark Field Merchandiser (part-time) – Grimes, IA 50111
As a Field Merchandiser, you will work independently to showcase your organization and time‑management skills and to establish retailer relationships while being the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations when needed. On occasion you may work with other products from other companies in the stores you service.
Salary and Schedule Details
Your starting hourly pay rate will be $14.00‑$16.00 depending on your skills and experience.
Eligible Employees receive annual pay increases.
This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
Average weekly hours are between 10‑15 hours.
Availability the week before and after major holidays, including weekends, is required.
Role and Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day engagement: using the provided mobile device to restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark products inside and outside the Hallmark department. Use technology for communication, reporting time, providing feedback, and answering required surveys. Interact professionally with store employees, management, and customers. You are responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at your assigned stores.
Holiday support: additional days and extended hours during the lead‑up and following holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. May be required to work on the holiday itself, including weekends.
Department resets: participate in installations and related tasks such as building, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections. Typically notified two weeks in advance; may include evenings or weekends.
Team support: as part of Hallmark’s field organization, you will support other merchandisers as needed in their territories.
Physical Requirements The job is physically demanding and requires energy and urgency. You must consistently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds throughout the day and up to 50 pounds on occasion. Kneeling, squatting, walking, and standing are required; you may need to climb stairs and step ladders.
Basic Qualifications
At least 18 years old.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Proficiency operating a digital hand‑held device to open and read documents.
Access to Wi‑Fi and the internet.
Reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
