Job Summary Drive state‑owned vans and fleet vehicles to transport the GT community to various drop‑off locations. Assist passengers, maintain vehicles, perform inspections, refuel, and report incidents.
Responsibilities
Drive state‑owned vans and fleet vehicles, providing safe and efficient transportation for the GT community.
Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle, including those with disabilities.
Utilize transit technology, follow GPS directions, and log ridership details.
Perform routine pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, refuel vehicles, and transport them to and from maintenance shop.
Make timely accident and incident reports.
Perform courier duties and support special events as needed.
Execute additional job‑related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements High school diploma, GED certificate, or vocational school diploma.
Qualifications
State of Georgia Class C or CDL driver’s license (valid and maintained).
Physical abilities: step up and down a vehicle multiple times in an hour; lift up to 25 lbs; open/close or pull shut a vehicle door; assist a passenger in a wheelchair or with crutches; harness a wheelchair.
Required Experience At least two years of job‑related experience.
Skills Effective customer service skills.
Job Details Job Grade: C4
Pay Range: $16.80/hr – $21.12/hr
Location: Atlanta, GA
Schedule: Sunday – Thursday 7:30 pm – 4 am
Other Information This is not a supervisory position. No financial responsibilities or purchasing card required. Not a trust position. No travel. No security clearance required.
Background Check Successful candidate must pass a background check, pre‑employment screening, and drug test. Random drug and alcohol testing may be required.
Work Environment Exposure to hazards such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
