Role Overview
Sheet Metal Fabricator I at Accurus Aerospace Kent, LLC.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Responsibilities
Operate saws, shears, CNC sheet metal fabrication machinery such as CNC turret punch, router, press brakes, and lasers to cut, shear, punch, bend, or straighten sheet metal or other parts.
Perform setups or adjustments according to program directives using shims, blocks, supports, and fixtures to ensure proper alignment of parts.
Determine project requirements such as materials, cutting lines, dimensions, and tolerances using blueprints, drawings, or work orders.
Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material using precision tools.
Measure and inspect completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications with micrometers, gauges, calipers, or templates.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow directions consistently and accept responsibility for actions and work product.
Comply with manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructions.
Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures; proactively identify job hazards and collaborate with leadership to minimize hazards.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Ensure regular attendance on‑site.
Provide training to Level I operators as a Level II.
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a production/manufacturing role requiring hand tools and material‑handling equipment.
Recent vocational training in metal‑working or related technical role may be considered in lieu of experience.
Higher experience levels required for placement at Level II.
Required Skills and Abilities
Experience reading and accurately interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and customer specifications.
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, calipers, and templates.
Experience using powered electric and/or pneumatic hand tools including grinders or sanders.
Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, lift, carry (short distances), push/pull up to 50–75 pounds, and perform overhead or bending tasks.
Strong visual acuity for interpreting measurements on gauges and other devices.
Ability to work in a manufactured environment with the physical demands listed below.
