Position Overview We are seeking a

skilled, detail-oriented Shop Mechanic

with experience in

heavy equipment ,

small engine repair , and

truck maintenance . The ideal candidate will be well-versed in diagnosing and repairing a variety of equipment — from tractors and loaders to commercial mowers and snow removal machines — ensuring our fleet is dependable in every season.

Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of heavy and compact equipment (including Kubota tractors, loaders, and skid steers).

Conduct small engine repairs on mowers, snow blowers, trimmers, and other commercial-grade tools.

Diagnose and repair light- and medium-duty trucks, including brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance.

Utilize

computer-based diagnostic tools

for troubleshooting and repair documentation.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment in compliance with company safety standards.

Order parts and track inventory to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.

Collaborate with managers and crew leaders to prioritize repair schedules and keep all equipment in optimal condition.

Qualifications:

Ability to read technical manuals and interpret diagnostic data.

Effectively communicate with team members and management.

Ability to calculate torque, PSI, volume, and fluid conversions.

Basic math to support mechanical repairs.

Ability to diagnose issues, interpret data, and make sound mechanical decisions.

Able to troubleshoot and prioritize repairs efficiently.

Strong familiarity with smartphones, tablets, and web-based tools.

Ability to use internal platforms like JotForm, Google Docs, and Follotrac for task tracking and communication.*

Ability to learn, follow, and help refine internal systems for work orders, equipment logs, and inventory.

Experience with diagnostic software and digital equipment manuals preferred.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED required.

3+ years of relevant mechanical experience preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver's license required.
