Salary Range:

$37,782.00 – $66,120.00.

Duties:

Provides experienced-level work in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration.

Designs, installs, and repairs HVAC energy control management systems during renovations and construction.

Assists in installing electrical conduit and wiring for HVAC circuits.

Performs preventive maintenance.

Instructs lower-level assistants and offenders in performing less technical repairs.

Provides technical guidance and support to other staff members in HVAC energy control management systems.

Works by instruction from the supervisor, following policies, NC building code manuals, OSHA regulations, and safety policies.

Requires great physical effort in the installation, repair, and removal of HVAC systems.

May work with all custody levels of offenders and have close contact.

Will be required, at times, to perform repairs on equipment outside his/her specialty trade.

Must have general knowledge of several trades and be diversified.

Work Schedule:

Full-time (40 hours per week). Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; hours may vary depending on business needs.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High school or GED diploma and 3 years of progressive experience in installation, maintenance, or repair of air conditioning chillers, air handling, chilled water distribution, and control systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Qualifications:

Current EPA Type I, II, III or Universal technician certification required by Title 40, Part 82, Subpart F.
