Skilled Trades Recruiter for Opti Staffing Group OPTI STAFFING IS HIRING
Position: Commercial Tile Setter / Flooring Specialist
Pay: $20-30+ /hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift
Who We Are Our Client is a local Vancouver flooring company seeking highly skilled Commercial Tile Setters/Flooring Specialists to join our extremely busy and year-round team. Our focus is commercial flooring, and we are committed to hiring only the best. If you're looking for a long-term career with a company that treats its employees right, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
Cut and shape tile to fit around obstacles and into tight spaces using hand and power tools
Align and straighten tile using levels, squares, and straightedges
Lay and set tiles for decorative walls, murals, and floors
Measure and mark surfaces per blueprints
Finish joints and clean excess grout using a damp sponge
Remove old tile, grout, and adhesive with chisels and scrapers
Clean and prep surfaces for installation
Mix and apply adhesives including mortar, cement, mastic, or glue
Measure materials and surfaces for accurate installation
Maintain a clean job site and handle post-project cleanup

What You Need to Have
Proven experience in tile setting or commercial flooring
Ability to follow blueprints and layout plans
Skilled in measuring, cutting, and setting tile
Knowledge of adhesives and surface preparation

Team player mentality
Willingness to work on commercial job sites
Preferred
Experience with decorative or custom tile work
Background in additional flooring techniques
Familiarity with power tools and commercial job site protocols
